Hey Friends Hey!
I'm not sure what took me so long to write this post, but here I am writing it and stuff! Look at me!
Do you ever think, "well geesh what am I going to do with the kids today?", you know, on those super hot, cold, or rainy days! Of course in DC, the Smithsonian or library is always an option. But Enzo and I found and love the Building Zone and Play, Work, Build exhibits at the National Building Museum! Is it free, NO! However, they offer different memberships to fit your needs. We have the family membership that runs $90 a year. It's pretty much a steal when entry is about $15 per person. On top of many other perks, the membership includes admission for 2 adults and 4 children, free admission to special exhibits, and members only birthday parties.
On exhibit now through September 3, 2018 is the Fun House , Snarkitecture one of 9 exhibits that are availble. This one is a hit with it's all white playful character. You have pools filled with white plastic balls that people of all ages are excited to jump into and be apart of. It's super instagramable! Lol
More on our favorites, the Building Zone is designed for kids from toddler to age 6. It's a timed exhibit included in the price of admission with 45 minutes of play starting 15 minutes after the start of each hour. Enzo loves this area because they have a section with trains, construction vehicles, a play house, building blocks, books and a few other things that kids love to play with. I love it because they have seating for the adults to chill out and relax while your child is playing!
The Play, Work, Build exhibits is designed for everyone. I love this area because you become an architect and build and design anything that your heart desires. The huge foam building blocks are always a hit!
