Hey Friends Hey! It has truly been a long time! But I'm back! lol.
Truckeroo! What is that you ask? Well, its a monthly food truck gathering held at the Bullpen in the Navy Yard neighborhood of D.C. that has great drink, great food, and live entertainment. It runs monthly on Fridays from May until September. Best of all for me, it's pretty family friendly. Did I not mention that it is also FREE to get in!
I attended the kick off gathering on yesterday with my son and husband. Let me first say that this was my first time attending in a few years. And boy oh boy, there were some changed. There is less seating space and truck than before. I realized this is due to the new construction in the area. There also used to be picnic style tables to sit and eat, however yesterday they only had standing tables. Don't let that discourage you!
We had an awesome time! The highlight for me was the Froze', a frozen rose'. It was delish and only $10 bucks! Not bad for a delicious, frozen, alcoholic beverage to quench your thirst on a blazing hot day! I'll take it. I would also recommend the Vodka Lemonade on the rocks! Don't doubt me!
While I did not have food, my husband and the kid did. I did taste the calamari and that was good. The boys said that everything that they had was great. We'll definitely be back for more this summer!
